Therapeutic Dungeons & Dragon Groups in Littleton, Colorado
Building Skills. Building Confidence. Building Connections.
A supportive space where storytelling and adventure help kids and teens grow in real-world ways.
Therapeutically Applied Tabletop Role-Playing Games (TA-TTRPGs) combine the creativity of collaborative storytelling through games like Dungeons & Dragons with the intentionality of therapy to create an engaging space for growth.
Guided by a specially trained therapist, children and adolescents embark on shared adventures where they can safely explore emotions, strengthen relationships, and practice new ways of thinking, communicating, and solving problems.
Through the safety of role-play, participants build confidence, emotional regulation, flexible thinking, and social skills while discovering strengths they may not yet recognize in themselves. The skills and insights gained at the game table extend beyond the adventure, supporting stronger relationships, greater resilience, and meaningful growth in everyday life.
Specially Trained in Therapeutically Applied Tabletop Role-Playing Games
I am a Certified Therapeutic Game Master (CTGM) through Geek Therapeutics, an organization dedicated to advancing the ethical and intentional use of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) in mental health, education, and community settings.
Your Game Master: Lorraine Groses Good, LMFT, RPT, and certified therapeutic game master
This specialized training goes far beyond learning how to run a game. It focuses on using collaborative storytelling as a therapeutic tool to help children, teens, and young adults develop real-world skills within a safe and supportive environment.
As a Certified Therapeutic Game Master, I have received training in:
Applying evidence-informed therapeutic principles within tabletop role-playing games
Creating emotionally and psychologically safe gaming environments
Using role-playing experiences to support social-emotional learning and interpersonal growth
Facilitating group dynamics and collaborative problem-solving
Ethical considerations when integrating games into clinical practice
Adapting gameplay to support each participant's therapeutic goals and developmental needs
My therapeutic groups integrate this specialized training with my clinical experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist. Rather than simply playing a game, participants practice emotional regulation, flexible thinking, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, perspective-taking, and values-based decision-making through meaningful shared adventures.
The result is an engaging therapeutic experience where children and teens often discover that some of their most important learning happens while they're having fun.
